SO DISAPPOINTED!

First, let me say I have seen POTO is the past several times and I was beyond excited when I saw it was touring through. I bought tickets for my young daughter hoping she would fall in love with the story, the music, and the grand performance that I did at her age. Nope. What a mess of a production. The cheap revolving stage, the NON rising/crashing chandelier, the minimal costumes, no masquerade staircase, and all the changes to the choreography has completely ruined what was once a most spectacular and emotional experience. The whole storyline is now so muddled. My daughter was lost the entire time and I kept having to explain the scenes to her. She was not impressed. And, I, of coarse, was more than sad and frustrated that the experience I had hoped to share with her had been ruined by someone's idea of "better". Well, if no drama, no mystery, no heartpounding, and no love for the characters is "better". There you go.

SHOCKINGLY AWFUL DISAPPOINTMENT-DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME/MONEY

and I'm a big fan of POTO! Saw this at the Keller auditorium last night. If it weren't for ruining it for my wife I would have walked out early on. The main cast, save for Carlotta (Trista Moldovan), was AWFUL! The Phantom (Quentin Oliver Lee) being the worst, such a let down. The only time he had any power behind his voice was literally the last line of the show. You could barely hear him the rest of the show, and when you did it sounded like a whiny high school teenager. Christine (Eva Tavares) needs to go! Also no power, she rushed through most of the actual lyrics without actually singing them through, totally FAILED on 'The Point of No Return', my wife said she sounded more like a high pitched Disney character. To make it worse there was ZERO believable chemistry between the Phantom and Christine. The sets were small and cheap looking, they shortened many of the original breathtaking scenes. I could go on but you get the point. Fans of the original production WILL be disappointed

DISAPPOINTMENT NAMED PHANTOM

Start with a frigid theater which was far from full, to a poorly done great play. Orchestra overpowered singers, acting was as if they all had just come out of a coma. Our party had to wear hats and coats to maintain some level of comfort. Perhaps I should say discomfort. This was not the level of entertainment season ticket holders or even individually purchased tickets are entitled to from Playhouse Square performances.

VERY DISAPPOINTED

We saw the POTO at the State Theater in Cleveland two years ago and it was magnificent! The chandelier scene at the start of the show was so impressive. The entire show was an experience of a lifetime! This time, we attended the Sunday, 4/14 show at 1:00 pm - at the same theater in Cleveland, the play looked like a high school production. The chandelier scene was very, very disappointing, the scene when Christine's costume changes was deleted and the way the Phantom disappeared at the end was again, disappointing. The Phantom's voice was very weak and it was hard to understand the other performers. We had family members with us this time and I was embarrassed that I bragged up this show. It did not deliver.

SAD

The acting was okay, the set was okay, but the story was destroyed! They cut out many scenes/lines and it made no sense to someone who hadn't seen it before. Incredibly dissapointed

DISAPPOINTED

2019 traveling tour was horrific. The stage and costumes were very dark and reminded me of a dinner play house. I almost cried during “Masquerade “. The music is always good. By far the worse production of phantom that I have ever seen.
