Sydney Morning Herald
Born in Trinidad and Tobago, but raised in England, pop music superstar Leslie Sebastian Charles grew up listening to calypso, soul and rock, and it wasn't long before he was making his own stamp on the contemporary R&B genre. After adopting the moniker Billy Ocean in 1975, the iconic performer cemented his place on the musical landscape with a string of international hits in the 80s including Caribbean Queen (No More Love On The Run), Get Outta My Dreams, Get Into My Car, and Suddenly.
In the nearly five decades since Billy Ocean stepped onto the scene, he's earned worldwide recognition as a true would legend. Now seventy-something years old, Ocean still keeps the party pumping with an electrifying stage presence, a smorgasbord of feelgood songs and seemingly boundless energy. Keep an eye out for the suited and booted icon and his fancy footwork during his latest tour of US shores.
